Description of holotype (female). Length 3.50, width 2.48 mm. Form elongate oval, widest at middle of elytra, not flattened dorsoventrally ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C). General color yellowish red, middle of thorax and abdomen yellowish red. Outline of pronotum and elytron discontinuous. Pronotum yellowish red, with a basal dark brown spot, translucent at apex; finely, densely punctured; pubescence of semidecumbent yellowish hairs ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 D). Elytra yellowish red, with a large and irregular dark brown spot roughly in the shape of a cross, not reaching the humeral callus, with a lateral band in the middle of elytra and a smaller band before the apex ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 A). Elytral punctures intermixed coarse and fine, dense, slightly larger than on pronotum; sparse in the discal area. Antenna, mouthparts, hypomera, epipleura, and legs reddish yellow. Metaventrite finely, sparsely punctured medially and anteriorly; coarsely, densely punctured laterally and posteriorly with punctures large, often confluent ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 B). Abdominal ventrites coarsely punctured, punctures separated by about a diameter or less, punctures becoming coarser laterally. First abdominal ventrite with postcoxal line complete, extending beyond middle of first ventrite; precoxal area coarsely punctured on base of cavity ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 E). Genitalia with genital plates triangular, elongate, styli with setae; spermatheca elongate, uniform ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 F).

Male. Unknown.

Etymology. The name of this species refers to the cross-shaped spot on the elytra.

Discussion. Pseudoryssomus crucifer sp. nov. resembles P. b r ul e i sp. nov. in the color pattern, but differs in the shape of the spot and male and female genitalia.
