Distribution. Argentina, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay (likely Asunción: Santísima Trinidad, see Lindner 1928a: 94; Central: Areguá; Concepción: Horqueta; Cordillera: Tobatí; Itapúa: Isla Yacyretá; San Pedro: CororoRio Ypane), Puerto Rico, Uruguay.
Comments. Johnson (1919: 426), in the original description of Microchrysa bruesi , mentioned an additional allotype and a paratype, sexes not stated, for which the depository institution is not known. As well, for M. abdominalis James, 1936 , two paratypes and the allotype, sexes not stated, are housed in the MCZ (see above), and only the depositary institution of a third paratype remains unknown.
