Cytaea flavolineata Berland, 1938 View in CoL

Figs 34–42 View FIGURES 34 – 42

Cytaea flavolineata Berland, 1938: 157 View in CoL –158; Prószyński, 1984: 29 (male holotype from Efate, Port-Villa, Risbec, 1933 View in CoL , MNHN 20576, examined); World Spider Catalog 2015.

Diagnosis. In comparison with the similar C. barbatissima (Keyserling) and C. nausori Berry, Beatty & Prószyński , which have similar embolus, RTA has distal notch ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ). It differs from C. piscula (L. Koch) , which has distal notch on RTA, by the thoracic slope, which starts well behind PLE ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ) and by the narrower tegulum and wider embolus coil ( Figs 39, 41 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ).

Redescription. Male (holotype). Cephalothorax dark-brown, covered with sparse light-reflecting scales, more numerous on sides ( Figs 34, 38 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ). Eyes surroundings black. Eye field wider than long, narrowing posteriorly, its length 45% of CL. Fovea short, located between PLE. Thorax with three lighter stripes ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ). Abdomen greybrown, with many lighter spots and sparse light-reflecting scales. Spinnerets greyish. Clypeus light-brown, narrower (28%) than AME diameter, covered with long, white hairs, sparse white scales and some protruding setae ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ). Chelicerae slender, vertical, light-brown, with grey spots making longitudinal stripe ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ); promargin with three teeth, retromarginal tooth bicuspidate ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ). Venter greyish-brown with pattern as in Fig. 35 View FIGURES 34 – 42 . Pedipalps light-brown ( Figs 39–40 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ), tibia and patella prolaterally grey-brown, femur proximally greyish, and with 1-1-2 dorsal spines. RTA of medium length, hooked apically ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ), with distal notch ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 34 – 42 ). Legs I lightbrown, coxae–patellae lighter; spination: fI: dorsal 1-1-5; pI: prolateral 1, retrolateral 1; tI: dorsal 1-0, prolateral 1- 1, retrolateral 1-1, ventral 2-2-2; mI: prolateral 1-1, retrolateral 1-1, ventral 2-2. Other legs light brown. Dimensions. CL 1.99, CW 1.51, CH 1.00, AL 1.89, AW 1.19, EFL 0.90, AEW 1.34, PEW 1.12, leg I: 4.19 (1.19 + 0.70 + 0.99 + 0.86 + 0.45), leg II: missing, leg III: 4.27 (1.41 + 0.65 + 0.74 + 1.03 + 0.44), leg IV: 4.12 (1.31 + 0.47 + 0.83 + 1.06 + 0.45).
