Type:— BRAZIL. [Rio de Janeiro:] Rio de Janeiro, northern part of Tijuca Range, June, J. Barbosa Rodrigues s.n.. ( J. Barbosa Rodrigues personal herbarium destroyed). (lectotype, designated here: original illustration that was to be published in Iconographie des Orchidées du Brésil t. 767, deposited at the library of the Instituto de Pesquisas Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, bound in volume 6, and later published in the book of the same title by Barbosa Rodrigues 1996: 432, t. 304!).

Notes:—Barbosa Rodrigues had a private collection where he kept all his types; however, the whereabouts of these materials are unknown (Sprunger et al. 1996). Therefore, an illustration made by Barbosa Rodrigues from the original collection is designated here as a lectotype.
