78. Notylia venezuelana Schlechter (1919: 45) View in CoL .
Type:— VENEZUELA. Distrito Capital: Caracas, s.d., K. W. John s.n. ( B destroyed). Neotype (designated here):— VENEZUELA. Maracaibo , 1 June 1950, N. H. Prade 638 ( USF 28986 About USF !).
Notes: — Schlechter (1919) described N. venezuelana without informing the holotype and the herbarium where the deposit occurred in the protologue. It is believed that the original material was destroyed at the B herbarium during World War II (Butzin 1978, 1980). The Prade 638 sample, which was obtained near the type locality and has characteristics corresponding to those described by the author in the protologue, is designated here as a neotype.
