Materials: 05. 2013, Iğneada, Black Sea, gravelly sand with shell fragments, 10 m, 2 spm + 1 sh. ( ESFM-GAS /2012- 6) ; 25.06.2013, Prebosphoric region, Black Sea , 10 m, 1 spm ( ESFM-GAS/2013-41 ) ; 16.07.2013, Sinop, Black Sea , sand with shell fragments, 15 m, 2 spm ( ESFM-GAS/2013-42 ) ; 22.04.2019, Kıyıköy, Black Sea , sand with shell fragments, 27 m, 1 spm ( ESFM-GAS/2019-3 ) .

Remarks: The shell has a multispiral protoconch and on teleoconch a sculpture of orthocline axial ribs only (on the body whorl 7–8 ribs). Posterior sinus well developed, labrum tickened. The species is similar to the specimens with same colour patterns of M. brusinae (especially by the presence of white band bellow the suture), but M. pontica is distributed in the Black Sea only, where the species is the unique representative of the genus.

Distribution: Black Sea ( Chuchcin 1984). Turkish coasts: Black Sea and Sea of Marmara ( Demir 2003).
