Diagnosis. Palpus yellow. Coxa I yellow, coxae II and III (except narrow apex) blackish. All femora yellow. Hairs and bristles on head and thorax blackish. Cercus with outer process curved and spine-like apically. Hypandrium short and broad, with small trapezoid apical incision.

Description. Male. Body length 2.0– 2.1 mm, wing length 3.6–3.7 mm.

Head metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on head blackish; postocular bristles (except uppermost bristle) yellowish. Ocellar tubercle weak, with 2 very long oc and 2 very short posterior hairs. Antenna ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 – 7 ) black; pedicel with circlet of dark brown apical hairs; first flagellomere rather short, 0.8x as long as wide; arista dorsal, black, with very short pubescence. Proboscis brownish black, with black hairs; palpus yellow, with yellow hairs and 2 yellow apical bristles.

Thorax metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on thorax blackish; 5 strong dc, 7–8 irregularly paired acr short and hair-like; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles, outer pair slightly long, about 0.4x as long as inner pair. Propleuron with 1 yellowish hair and 1 yellowish bristle on lower portion. Legs yellow; coxa I yellow, coxae II and III (except narrow apex) blackish; fore leg from tip of tibia onward brownish or brown; tarsi II and III from tip of tarsomere 1 onward brown. Hairs and bristles on legs black; coxae with pale hairs and bristles; coxa I with 2 long bristles. Femora II and III each with 1 av at apex. Tibia I apically with 1 short bristle; tibia II with 2 ad and 1 pd, apically with 3 bristles; tibia III with 2 ad and 2 pd, apically with 2 bristles. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs LI 1.7: 1.1: 0.55: 0.4: 0.25: 0.25; LII 2.4: 1.45: 0.6: 0.4: 0.25: 0.25; LIII 2.6: 1.2: 0.7: 0.5: 0.3: 0.3. Wing nearly hyaline; veins brown, R4+5 and M nearly parallel apically; CuAx ratio 0.3. Squama brownish yellow with yellow hairs. Halter yellow.

Abdomen metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on abdomen mostly blackish; tergum 1 with pale hairs and bristles. Male genitalia ( Figs. 6–7 View FIGURES 5 – 7 ): epandrium distinctly longer than wide, with 1 lateral bristle apically; surstylus not distinctly separated from epandrium, short and nearly acute apically; cercus rather long and narrow apically, with rather long outer process curved and spine-like apically; hypandrium short and broad, with small apical incision.

Female. Body length 2.0 mm, wing length 3.7 mm. Similar to male.

Type material. Holotype male, Nepal: NE of Thudam (4000 m), 30. vi. 1972, J. Emoto. Paratypes: 1 male 1 female, same data as holotype, H. Shima.

Distribution. Nepal.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the cercus with curved spine-like inner process.

Remarks. This new species is somewhat similar to C. bifurcatus Wang and Yang, 2006 from Tibet in the shape of the first flagellomere and surstylus, but may be separated from the latter by the blackish mid and hind coxae. In C. bifurcatus , all coxae are yellow (Wang & Yang, 2006).
