Diagnosis. First flagellomere rounded apically. Palpus yellow. Coxa I with narrow base blackish, coxae II and III (except narrow apex) blackish; femur III (except apex) brown. Hypandrium longer than wide without apical incision.

Description. Male. Body length 1.7–2.1 mm, wing length 3.0– 3.1 mm.

Head metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on head yellow; oc and vt dark yellow. Ocellar tubercle weak, with 2 very long oc and 2 very short posterior hairs. Antenna ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 8 – 10 ) black; pedicel with circlet of black apical hairs; first flagellomere rather short, 0.6x as long as wide; arista dorsal, black, with very short pubescence. Proboscis brownish black, with yellow hairs; palpus yellow, with yellow hairs and 2 yellow bristles.

Thorax metallic green with gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on thorax yellow; 5 strong dc, 6–7 irregularly paired acr short and hair-like; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles, outer pair about 0.25x as long as inner pair. Propleuron with 1 yellowish hair and 1 yellowish bristle on lower portion. Legs yellow; coxa I with narrow base blackish, coxae II and III (except narrow apex) blackish; femur III (except apex) brown; tarsomere 5 black. Hairs and bristles on legs mostly brown, coxae with yellowish hairs and bristles; coxa I with 4 long bristles. Femur II with 1 av at apex, femur III with 2 av at apex. Tibia I without distinct bristles, apically with 1 bristle; tibia II with 1 ad and 2 pd, apically with 3 bristles; tibia III with 2 ad and 2 pd, apically with 2 bristles. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs LI 1.5: 1.1: 0.45: 0.3: 0.2: 0.2; LII 1.9: 1.3: 0.45: 0.3: 0.2: 0.2; LIII 2.4: 1.1: 0.6: 0.4: 0.2: 0.2. Wing hyaline; veins brown, R4+5 and M nearly parallel apically; CuAx ratio 0.25. Squama dark brown with yellow hairs. Halter yellow.

Abdomen metallic green with gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on abdomen yellowish. Male genitalia ( Figs. 9–10 View FIGURES 8 – 10 ): epandrium distinctly longer than wide, with 1 lateral bristle apically; surstylus distinctly separated from epandrium, with curved and somewhat acute apex; cercus thin and finger-like apically, with thick outer lobe incised apically; hypandrium longer than wide with nearly acute apex.

Female. Body length 1.7–2.2 mm, wing length 3.0– 3.7 mm. Similar to male.

Type material. Holotype male, Nepal: NE of Thudam (4000 m), 28. vi. 1972, J. Emoto. Paratypes: 16 males 16 females, same data as holotype; 5 males 3 females, Thudam (3500–3800 m), 27. vi. 1972, H. Shima; 1 female, Thudam (3500 m), 21–30. vi. 1972, Malaise trap; 1 male, Thudam (3500 m), 8–9. vii. 1972, Malaise trap; 16 males 9 females, NE of Thudam (4000 m), 30. vi. 1972, H. Shima; 3 males 13 females, NE of Thudam (4000 m), 30. vi. 1972, J. Emoto.

Distribution. Nepal.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the cercus which is finger-like apically.

Remarks. This new species is somewhat similar to Chrysotimus curvispinus sp. nov., but may be separated from the latter by the head and thorax with yellow hairs and bristles, and the first flagellomere rounded apically. In C. curvispinus , the head and thorax have chiefly blackish hairs and bristles, and the first flagellomere is angular apically.
