Ecteinascidia bandaensis Millar, 1975: 268 fig. 49. Monniot F. & Monniot C. 2001: 301 figs 78, 120C and synonymy.
Material. Indonesia. West Papua, Gam Island, Danau Nine Gam marine lake, 00°26.970’ S – 130°29.49’E, 0.25m, 04/XII/2007, coll. L.J. Bell and L.E. Martin, DNG 0 86 ( MNHN P2 ECT 106).
The colonies are organised in a dense web of thread-like stolons, mixed with sponges and settled on rocks. The white opaque zooids are 6mm in length with a red line encircling the base of each siphon ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12. A ). The lobes of the siphons have a white tip. This aspect is characteristic of the species. The gonads are not developed here but the anatomy is that described in Monniot & Monniot (2001). The geographic distribution of this species comprises Indonesia, the Philippines and the south western Indian Ocean at low depths.
