Discussion. This species was described from Tanzania ( Vachal 1903) and later recorded from Zimbabwe by Pasteels (1965). The holotype has not been located. Pasteels (1965), who knew the subgenera very well, placed it in Creightonella . However, SAMC has two speciments that belong to Megachile (Eutricharaea) lydenburgiana , from Zimbabwe that were labeled as M. altera . The true identity of this species must await the discovery of the holotype.
