Type Material. Neotype, female (with ovipositor and spermatheca in microvial), here designated, “[red] Type 9494/1st Jacoby Coll./[handwritten] Type/Amazon/ Lycaste trichoa Gistel [printed] R.W. Flowers 2002/[handwritten] HOLOTYPE Prionodera metallica Jacoby [printed] R.W. Flowers 2002”. Deposited in MCZ.
Additional Material Examined. (1♀, NHMB) Brazil, Maués.
Diagnosis. Females have the spurs on sternum VII slender and curved ( Flowers 2003), the elytra have large raised costae on the basal calli, and the punctation on the apical half of the elytra forms separate geminate striae (see images of the holotype of P. metallica in MCZbase 2021).
