6. Gabrius disparatus View in CoL sp. n.

( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 A–D, H)

Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Beijing: ɗ, Xiaolongmen, 22.XI.2001, 1235 m, leg. Yu Xiaodong ( IZ- CAS).

Description. Head black-brown; pronotum dark brown, shining. Antennae dark brown with basal two and last two segments reddish-brown. Elytra dark brown. Abdomen black with feebly blue reflex, posterior margin of each tergite markedly reddish-brown. Mandibles, maxillary and labial palpi and legs reddishbrown.

Body 5.22 mm long (HPL = 2.04 mm). Head of rounded quadrangular shape, 0.82 mm long, 0.65 mm wide (HW:HL = 0.80). Tempora 0.49 mm long, almost evenly rounded, sparsely and coarsely punctate; eyes small, slightly protruding, 0.33 mm long, 0.67 times as long as tempora. Dorsal surface of head with distinct and profound microsculpture of transverse waves, almost impunctate. Antennae short, 1st segment long, slightly thickened towards apex, 3rd segment slightly longer than 2nd, 4th segment almost as long as wide, 5th– 10th segments distinctly transverse, last segment distinctly longer than wide, obliquely truncated.

Pronotum almost parallel-sided, 1.06 mm long, 0.82 mm wide, as wide as head (PW:HW = 1.25); dorsal rows each with five punctures, sublateral rows each with two punctures; entire surface with microsculpture similar to that on head.

Elytra slightly widened posteriad, 1.22 mm long, 0.82 mm wide, along sides 1.15 times as long as pronotum, sparsely and finely punctate, punctures separated by 3–5 times their diameter. Scutellum large, triangular, sparsely and finely punctate and pubescent.

Abdomen slightly narrowed posteriad, widest 0.98 mm, uniformly and densely punctate, punctures separated by 1–2 times their diameter; surface between punctures with exceedingly fine and dense microsculpture of transverse striae; tergites III–VI with two basal lines, elevated area between basal lines almost impunctate.

Male. Sternite VIII with wide, moderately deep medio-apical emargination ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 H). Genital segment with styli of tergite IX simple, moderately setose apically. Tergite X very small, with two small lobes apically, each lobe bearing four apical setae ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 D).

Aedeagus quite characteristic; median lobe narrowed into slender, bifurcate apical portion ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A); in lateral view, apical portion slightly dilated, distinctly bent dorsad ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 B); paramere broad, gradually narrowed into subacuate apex, face adjacent to median lobe with sensory peg setae closely arranged along subapical margin ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 C).

Female. Unknown.

Remarks. The new species is similar to G. trifidus Schillhammer, 1992 in having head black, pronotum dark brown, elytra and antennae black. Gabrius disparatus sp. n. can be easily distinguished from G. trifidus by the bifurcate apical portion of the median lobe of aedeagus.

Distribution. The species is at present known only from China (Beijing).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word disparatus (separated), and refers to the bifurcated apical portion of aedeagus.
