Type material. CHINA, Guangdong Province: Holotype male from Shenzhen City, Longhua District, Yangtai Mountain , 22.65°N, 113.97°E, 301 m, 30 January 2021, Q. Lu leg. ( CBEE, LJ20210628001 ) GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1 male, with same data as for holotype ( CBEE, LJ20210628002 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the type locality, Yangtai Mountain; adjective.

Diagnosis. The male of P. yangtaiensis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to those of P. bicruris and P. papilionacea spec. nov. in having a bifurcate E with thin embolic tip and a prolateral protrusion at the base of E, but can be distinguished by distal part of E flat, long and filiform, its tip proximad (distal part of E columnarshaped in P. bicruris , distal part of E with a triangular projection in P. papilionacea spec. nov.).

MALE (LJ20210628001): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 10.9–11.3, DS length 4.9, width 4.7, OS length 6.0, width 3.5. Eyes: AME 0.17, ALE 0.27, PME 0.21, PLE 0.24, AME–AME 0.14, AME–ALE 0.10, PME–PME 0.18, PME–PLE 0.32, AME–PME 0.27, ALE–PLE 0.22, CH AME 0.36, CH ALE 0.31. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2101; Fe I–III 323, IV 322; Pa I–IV 101; Ti I–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3037. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 8.1 (2.4, 1.2, 1.7, –, 2.8); I 28.5 (8.5, 2.2, 8.3, 7.4, 2.1); II 33.4 (9.4, 2.8, 9.7, 9.0, 2.5); III 24.6 (7.5, 1.9, 7.0, 6.5, 1.7); IV 29.4 (9.0, 2.5, 7.8, 8.6, 1.5). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 33 denticles.

Palp ( Figs 268A–C View FIGURE 268 ): As in diagnosis. C arising from T at 12:30–1:00 o’clock position. E arising from T at 11:00 o’clock position, basally broad, bifurcate at apical part. Spermophor S-shaped, running almost centrally through T in ventral view. RTA arising medially from Ti. dRTA short, curved (best seen in ventral view) and with pointed tip; vRTA broad.

Colouration ( Figs 269A–B View FIGURE 269 ): DS yellow with dark setae. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. OS dorsally yellowish-brown, margins with brown patches, irregularly arranged. OS ventrally yellow with small dark triangular patch in front of spinnerets.

FEMALE: Unknown.
