Type material. CHINA, Yunnan Province: Holotype male from Chuxiong City, Zixi Mountain Natural Scenic Spot, 25.00°N, 101.42°E, 2505 m, 15 May 2014 , X. Cao & Y. Zhong leg. ( CBEE, LJ1665 ) GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1 female, with same data as for holotype ( CBEE, LJ1666 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the type locality, the Chuxiong City; adjective.

Diagnosis. The male of P. chuxiongensis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. can be distinguished from those of all other congeners by the following combination of characters: 1) E with entire coil situated almost in 9:00– 12:00 o’clock position, thin and filiform at apical part; 2) RTA arising proximally to medially, straight, longer than Ti. The female of P. chuxiongensis Zhang, Jäger & Liu ,

spec. nov. is similar to those of P. gemina and P. namkhan in having a very similar arrangement of LL and IDS, but can be distinguished by posterior part of LL almost flat in P. chuxiongensis spec. nov. (with projection in P. namkhan , slightly curved in P. gemina ).

MALE (LJ1665): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 10.6, DS length 4.9, width 4.7, OS length 5.7, width 4.0. Eyes: AME 0.19, ALE 0.26, PME 0.22, PLE 0.24, AME–AME 0.16, AME–ALE 0.07, PME–PME 0.20, PME–PLE 0.33, AME–PME 0.26, ALE–PLE 0.22, CH AME 0.34, CH ALE 0.30. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121; Fe I–II 323, III–IV 322; Pa I–III 101, IV 100; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 6.7 (1.9, 0.9, 1.2, –, 2.7); I 24.9 (7.5, 2.1, 7.1, 6.5, 1.7); II 29.4 (8.3, 2.3, 8.7, 8.0, 2.1); III 22.5 (6.7, 2.0, 6.3, 6.1, 1.4); IV 25.9 (7.9, 1.6, 6.8, 7.6, 2.0). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 24 denticles.

Palp ( Figs 53A–C View FIGURE 53 ): As in diagnosis. T large, extending beyond alveolus margins in proximal half. E arising from T at 11:00 o’clock position, running roughly 360° at the apical part. EP short and triangular. Spermophor running submarginally along tegular margin, not visible in proximal half in ventral view, but visible in lateral views only. RTA arising from proximal half of Ti, tip of dRTA thin and long, vRTA short and blunt.

Colouration ( Figs 55A–B View FIGURE 55 ): DS yellowish-brown, distinctly dotted, partly with marbled pattern. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. Sternum and ventral coxae dotted. OS dorsally yellowish-brown, with distinct dark pattern, ventrally with median field darker and with larger dots.

FEMALE (LJ1666): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 12.4, DS length 4.6, width 4.3, OS length 7.8, width 5.8. Eyes: AME 0.15, ALE 0.25, PME 0.19, PLE 0.22, AME–AME 0.13, AME–ALE 0.06, PME– PME 0.17, PME–PLE 0.27, AME–PME 0.24, ALE–PLE 0.20, CH AME 0.30, CH ALE 0.26. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III–IV 322; Pa I–III 101, IV 100; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 5.1 (1.4, 0.7, 1.1, –, 1.9); I 16.4 (4.5, 1.7, 4.4, 4.2, 1.6); II 18.5 (4.9, 2.0, 5.2, 4.6, 1.8); III 14.4 (4.3, 1.5, 3.8, 3.4, 1.4); IV 15.8 (4.6, 1.1, 4.0, 4.4, 1.7). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 21 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs54A–C View FIGURE 54 ):As in diagnosis.EF distinctly wider than long, with AB indistinct and fused to the field. Anterior margins of LL almost straight, posterior margins weakly curved. Margins of FW undulating. FW short.

Colouration ( Figs 55C–D View FIGURE 55 ): As in male, generally darker. OS dorsally reddish-brown with many yellow dots, ventrally with median field only slightly darker and 4 lines of yellow dots.

Distribution. China (Yunnan Province).
