Canthidium gerstäckeri Harold, 1867b: 66 [transferred to Neocanthidium View in CoL by Vulcano & Pereira (1967: 591); transferred to Canthidium (Canthidium) View in CoL by Martínez & Halffter (1986a: 27); here transferred to the subgenus Neocanthidium View in CoL ]. Type locality: French Guiana and the lower Amazon River (“Cayenne und unteres Gebiet des Amazonenstromes”). Type material: Unknown number of syntypes (MNHN—ex Bates and Deyrolle collections). Distribution: Amazon region (Martínez & Halffter 1986a).
