Zethus (Zethoides) thoracicus Fox, 1899 View in CoL

Zethus thoracicus Fox, 1899: 419 View in CoL (female), 433 (key). Dalla Torre 1904: 17 (cat.). Bohart & Stange 1965: 160 (key), 169 (in subgenus Zethoides ; redescription of female). Type data: Holotype female, Pittsbugh [CMNH]. Type locality: Chapada [Mato Grosso, Brazil].

Examined material. 7♀ (see Supplementary Material 1). BRAZIL : ♀, holotype, Mato Grosso, Chapada [ CMNH] ; 6♀, Amazonas, Manaus [ DZUP] .

Distribution. Brazil (*Amazonas, Mato Grosso) ( Bohart & Stange 1965; and new data).

Observations. The specimens examined from DZUP are the first found besides the holotype and expand the distribution of this species northward to the Amazon. Previously, it was recorded only from the type location, in Chapada , Mato Grosso, Brazil .
