Remarks. The type material of this taxon has not been located in the Paris museum (V. Héros, pers. comm.). However, we found some material that fits the description of Crosse, labeled “ Plekocheilus corydon , Ecuador, Mindo” (DMNH 141666). This material has strong similarities to P. phoebus mentioned above and might prove to be a synonym.
