Remark. Except for papers published in this century, all records are doubtful due to former confusion with H. pilosa ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009) . Consequently, its presence in Bulgaria, Greece and Macedonia needs to be ascertained.

Habitat: Lakes, ponds.

Distribution: Holarctic.

Remarks: New for Albania and Greece.

Habitat: Lakes, ponds.

Distribution: Europe, Iran.

Habitat: Pools or slowly flowing reaches of streams.

Distribution: Central-Eastern Mediterranean, Iran.

New records: Greece: Lesbos, stream Mylopotamos, 06.v.2000 Smit (0/3/0) .

Remarks. Due to the presence of a single, swimming hair on segments four and five of the third and fourth legs the specimens from Greece show general conformity with Hydrodroma rheophila . The variability of additional populations from different regions of the whole distribution area needs to be examined to clarify the taxonomy. New for the Mediterranean.

Habitat: Pools of streams.

Distribution: India, Indonesia, Iran, Balkan.
