Material examined. Holotype ♂: [ U.S.A.], Fl[orida], UCF, Orlando, Orange Co., 22.VII.1983, LLP Sand Pine, Turkey Oak, Malaise Trap, S. M. Fullerton col. ( USNM). New material: NICARAGUA, 1 ♀, Granada, Volcan Mombacho, San Joaquin 2, 16.III.1998, Mal[aise] trap, J.M.Maes col. ( SEAN); PANAMA, 1 ♀, Chiriqui, Finca La Suiza, near Hornitos, 25–[2] 6.VI.2000, F[light] I[nterception] T[rap], H. & A. Howden [col.] ( CNCI); BRAZIL, Minas Gerais, Marileia, Parque Estadual do Rio Doce, 19°37’S 42°34’W, 19–26.X.2003, Malaise Trap, J.C.R. Fontenelle col. ( UFES # 101786, # 101788).

Diagnosis. MALE ( Fig. 92 View FIGURES 85 – 96. 85 – 88 ). Black. Mandible with five apical teeth ( Fig. 93 View FIGURES 85 – 96. 85 – 88 ). Clypeus with subangulate median lobe. Antennal scrobe not carinate. Frons strongly coriaceous. Vertex broadly slightly convex. Pronotal disc with foveolate thick groove U-shaped; anterior corner angularly produced; transverse anterior carina high and sharp, weak and angled medially backward; lateral margin humped, but not properly carinate, paralleled by thick groove; posterior margin not paralleled by series of small foveae. Scutellar pit subrounded. Mesopleuron with subtegular groove wider anteriorly; anterior fovea subquadrate; upper fovea subrounded; lower fovea with upper margin undefined medially ( Fig. 94 View FIGURES 85 – 96. 85 – 88 ). Genitalia ( Figs 95, 96 View FIGURES 85 – 96. 85 – 88 ): paramere long, as long as basiparamere, widened gradually to rounded apex, inserted dorsally into basiparamere and below its apex; cuspis wide narrowing evenly to rounded apex, longer than digitus and slightly shorter than paramere; aedeagus bottle-shaped, with apex rounded and without pre-apical constriction; ventral surface with conspicuous projection ventrad; base of apodeme very dilated. FEMALE unknown.
