This species has been reported from Guadeloupe ( Leng and Mutchler 1914), Puerto Rico, St. Croix and St. John, and other Caribbean islands ( Wolcott 1948b; Peck 2016). Miller (2002) also reported it from the ‘Virgin Islands’ but without specific data. To our knowledge, this is the first confirmed report of this species from St. Thomas, where it was found in artificial ponds from the Herman E Moore Golf Course and in the turtle pond by Dorothea ghut. There is one grey literature record from the Virgin Islands, without any specific island or locality information; however, it is misspelled as ‘ stricticus ’ ( Platenberg 2006).
