We found juveniles and adults on St. Thomas, in the lower reaches of Turpentine Run ghut, in dense aquatic vegetation in slow portions of the stream. This is the first record of this Cuban species from the Virgin Islands ( de Carlo 1972; Muñoz Riviaux et al. 2010; Naranjo et al. 2010).
