Description of holotype. Size 3.5 mm. Body. Shape: cuneiform; Build: robust; Profile: convex; Color (dorsally): unicolored. Head. Size: very large; Modification: strongly convex; Medial impression: absent. Vertex: Sculpture elements: rugae; Sculpture aspect: subparallel; Sculpture density: dense; Sculpture intensity: rough. Eyes: Size: subequal to half width of vertex (dorsal view); Shape: markedly protruding head outline; Lower margin: in line or below antennal socket; Median orbit: subparallel. Antennae: Length: reach to about anterior pronotal angles; Serration: from antennomere 4. Pronotum. Shape: visually transverse; Sides: slightly arcuate; Maximal width: at middle; Anterior margin: narrower than posterior. Anterior lobe: Development: obvious; Shape: arcuate; Width: broad; Position: projecting beyond anterior angles. Posterior angles: Shape: obtuse; Apex: sharp. Disk: Convexity: strongly convex; Impressions: lateral only; Lateral impressions (depth): shallow; Lateral impression (width): broad. Prehumerus: Development: carinal; Shape: arcuate; Extent: to 1/3 of pronotal length; Anterior end: distant from lateral carina; Posterior end: joined with posterior angle or margin; Arc: moderate. Lateral carinae: Convergence: moderate; Junction: present; Narrowest point: at posterior 1/5–1/4 of marginal carina. Scutellum: Size: robust. Elytra. Color: unicolored; Humeral carina: absent. Apices: Arrangement: separate; Shape: arcuate. Pubescence: Color: unicolored; Extent: proximal and distal; Proximal (shape): like V, X, Y, T; Distal (shape): preapical. Sternum. Prosternal lobe: Distal margin: arcuately emarginate; Emargination (depth): deep; Emargination (width): narrow. Prosternal process: Shape: subparallel; Sides: straight; Angles: obtuse; Disc: flat; Projection (length): protruding distinctly beyond angles. Metasternum: Metasternal projection: flat. Abdomen. Pygidium: Apical margin: arcuate. Sternal groove: Extent: on apical ventrite; Shape on apex of last ventrite: arcuately sinuate; Sinuosity (delimitation): angulate; Sinuosity (depth): markedly deep; Sinuosity (width): markedly wide. Legs. Metatarsus: Length to metatibia: distinctly shorter. Tarsomere 1: Length to following tarsomeres: shorter or subequal to 2–3. Genitalia. Aedeagus ( Fig. 5OView FIGURE5): Symmetry: symmetric; Shape: widest in apical part.

Variability. Size: 3.5–3.7 mm. Sexual dimorphism. The male has golden golden –green frons. Female is unknown.

Diagnosis. Agrilus thailandicus  sp. nov. is the species with weak sexual dimorphism and therefore lacking distinctive diagnostic characters. By subparallel shape of aedeagus ( Fig. 5OView FIGURE5), it is most similar to A. incrassatus  sp. nov., but it differs from it mainly by smaller size and by apex of metatibiae without cluster of setae.

Type material. Type locality: Thailand, Mae Hong Son, Soppong Pai pass [19°27'00”N, 098°20'00”E]. Type specimens. Holotype ♂ ( FWPC), 1 ♀ PT ( EJCB): “ NW Thai, 25.4.– 5.5.1992, Sappong [sic!] Pai pass, P. Pacholátko leg.”GoogleMaps  .
