10. Cheumatopsyche columnata View in CoL species group

Species of this species group have a bilobed segment X with a very narrow and shallow dorsal interlobular gap leading to an almost complete fusion of the lobes into a united segment X ( Fig. 10), as in C. contexta (Ulmer) and C. camena Malicky. The apical lobe on the posterolateral margins of segment IX are not strongly developed; the harpagones are usually short and excised. One African species, C. usambara , new species has a ventrocaudal spiny lobe otherwise known only in Oriental species, although the spines are not as strong. The group is distributed in the Oriental and Afrotropical regions, including Madagascar.
