Because the genus Brachychthonius Berlese is used here in the correct sense of Brachychochthonius Jacot, a new genus must be created for Brachychthonius auct. I introduce the name Liochthonius for the genus with the same characters as Brachychthonius auct., and I designate Brachychthonius perpusillis Berlese (redescription by Forsslund, 1942, p. 4, fig. 4) as the type.
