Dolichopus mucronatus View in CoL is known only from Sweden ( Negrobov 1991, Pollet 2006). According to the original description, it has all the typical features of a demasculinised male: very small male genitalia, a broad face and weakly developed secondary sexual characters ( Becker 1917). Ringdahl (1949) and Grichanov (2004) treated D. mucronatus View in CoL as an aberrant form of D. discimanus Wahlberg. It View in CoL is likely that this synonymy is correct.
