Note.
Camus (1935) illustrated Quercus baniensis in Chênes Atlas 2 (Pl.231) and later Camus (1936) effectively described this species based on the specimen Clemens 3455 collected from mountain Bani, Vietnam. The authors examined six specimens of Clemens 3455 in P, BM, MICH, U and US directly or by using digitised images on the web. Amongst them, Clemens 3455 in P [P00753998] was selected as the lectotype of Q. baniensis because the trait of a nut is well represented in this specimen.
