Distribution: Sulawesi, C Moluccas.
Conservation: IUCN / SSC Action Plan (1992) – Not Threatened. IUCN 2003 – Vulnerable.
Discussion: albiventer species group. The status of minutus and varius is unclear, and is currently under review by K. Helgen (pers. comm.).
