Distribution: Pantropical and subtropical.

Records in Mexico: Quintana Roo, Hidalgo, Yucatan, Jalisco, Veracruz, Guerrero, Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz and San Luis Potosi.

Biogeographic province: Yucatan Peninsula. Sierra Madre Oriental. Pacific Lowlands. Veracruzan. Transmexican Volcanic Belt. Veracruzan. Sierra Madre del Sur.

Habitat: Mangrove roots, moss. Leaf litter and soil of medium sub evergreen forest, lowland forest, mangrove and halophyte vegetation. Leaf litter ( Pinus cembroides ). Palm litter near the beach, litter near waterfalls, litter of Pinus oocarpa . Cave. Litter of coffee plantations. Deciduous forest. Rainforest. Low flooded rainforest leaf litter. Decaying trunks of Bursera simaruba and Spondias mombin .
