Distribution: Palearctic southern and tropical.

Records in Mexico: Quintana Roo and Aguascalientes.

Biogeographic province: Yucatan Peninsula. Chihuahuan Desert.

Habitat: Mangrove leaves, decomposing trunk. Leaf litter and soil of medium sub evergreen forest, lowland forest, mangrove and halophyte vegetation. Organic matter ( Aquila chrysaetos canadensis nests). Low flooded rainforest leaf litter.
