Distribution: U.S.A. and Neotropical.
Records in Mexico: Quintana Roo, Veracruz and Hidalgo.
Biogeographic province: Yucatan Peninsula. Veracruzan. Transmexican Volcanic Belt.
Habitat: Leaf litter and soil of medium sub evergreen forest, lowland forest, mangrove and halophyte vegetation. Decaying trunks of Bursera simaruba and Spondias mombin . Agricultural soils. Low flooded rainforest soil and leaf litter.
