Antenna yellow, 1.4 times longer than high; arista black except for brownish base, ray short plumose, with longest ray as long as 1/2 height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow and palpus yellow except for brown apical margin.

Mid femur with 6 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 2 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 13 – 24 ) clear, subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 5.3:1.3:1; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.1:1; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/4 of penultimate. FEMALE. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype ♂ ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Baisha, Yinggeling National Nature Reserve, Hongmao village, 430 m, 22. V. 2007, Junhua Zhang. Paratypes: 1 ♂, 1 ♀ ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Baisha, Yinggeling National Nature Reserve, Hongmao village, 430 m, 20. V. 2007, Kuiyan Zhang.

Distribution. China (Hainan)

Remarks. The new species is very similar to Homoneura (Homoneura) nudifrons (Kertész) from China ( Taiwan) and Malaysia (Borneo) in wing without spots and abdominal tergites 5 with a pair of black spots, but it can be separated from the latter by the surstylus being triangular with two short apical setae; the pregonite and postgonite being absent; the aedeagus having a pair of acute apical processes. In H. (H.) nudifrons , the surstylus is lobe-like without two short apical setae; the pregonite is short and furcated apically, the postgonite is long subuliform; the aedeagus is round without acute apical processes. ( Kertész, 1913; Malloch, 1929: fig. 53; Sasakawa, 1992).

Etymology. Latin, triangulata , meaning triangular, referring to the surstylus triangular with two apical setae; a feminine adjective.
