Diagnosis. Body blackish brown. Frons with yellow anterior margin, or a yellow T-shaped or quadrate spot. Palpus black. Mesonotum with postpronotum yellow and prsc short hair-like. Wing clear. Abdomen shining black. Male genitalia: syntergosternite confluent with epandrium or only a thin gap present between syntergosternite and epandrium; surstylus claviform with setulae, curved apically in posterior view; hypandrium nearly V-shaped; pregonite fused with hypandrium, shape of tip variable; postgonite broad.

The species group is similar to H. (H.) trispina group, but the latter with hypandrium and epandrium separated, hypandrium nearly Y-shaped (see Shi & Yang, 2009).
