Syn.: Graphina subhiascens Müller Arg. (1894: 283) . Type:—AFRICA. Usambara, Holst 969 (G!, holotype).

Thallus corticolous, white or whitish-gray, continuous, smooth, distinctly corticate, glossy. Lirellae erumpent, with a thick lateral to complete thalline margin, short to elongate, up to 5 mm long, straight, curved or sinuous, simple or irregularly branched, labia convergent, entire, disc concealed, not visible from above, ( subserpentina -morph). Exciple laterally carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 1/ascus, hyaline, densely muriform, 15–20 × 1–5-septate, 85–90 × 24–27 μm, 80–110 × 20–30 μm ( Lücking et al. 2008).

Chemistry: no lichen substances by TLC (anal. J. Sutjaritturakan).

Distribution and habitat:—Pantropical ( Lücking et al. 2009), reported from Costa Rica ( Lücking et al. 2008), Africa (type locality), Singapore ( Weerakoon et al. 2015), China ( Aptroot & Sparrius 2008 –present) and here from Thailand for the first time. It was growing on bark of an unidentified tree in a scondary forest at 130 m elevation.

Remarks:—Very similar is G. insulana , but this species differs in having an inspersed hymenium and norstictic acid as a major metabolite.
