Type material. Female paratype: [ South Africa] Bronkhorstfontein, S.A. Hepburn, 20.11.59, Acx 1117 [ NHMW] .

Diagnosis, female. Length 2.0 mm, 2.6 × as long as wide, colour black. Scapus with long dorsal spike, with broad tuft of long golden setae; pedicel narrow and almost as long as scapus; antennal club with one procurved and a second slightly bisinuate suture; elytral interstriae with densely placed, broad, truncated setae in rows on disc, on declivital interstriae 3–9 moderately confused; elytral apex very broadly rounded, nearly transverse. Male not seen.
