Current name: Gladiolus angustus L. ( Iridaceae ).

Note: Lewis & Obermeyer (in J. S. African Bot., Suppl. 10: 88. 1972) designated 59.16 (LINN) as type, but this choice is pre-dated by that of Stearn.
