Chrysina paulseni Hawks, 2017 View in CoL

Plusiotis neotenochca Morón & Nogueira, 2017 View in CoL . New synonym.

Chrysina paulseni View in CoL was described by Hawks (2017) in April, based mostly on material from the northwest area of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas: Chimalapas, Oaxaca, and adjacent areas in Chiapas between Villa Flores and Rizo de Oro (currently Nueva Tenochtitlán). Subsequently, in June of same year, Morón & Nogueira (2017) described Plusiotis neotenochca View in CoL from the same area and localities, adding Finca Prusia in the municipality of Angel Albino Corzo (Chiapas). After comparing both descriptions, illustrations, and examining 69 males and 12 females from the Chimalapas region (EMAC, IEXA, LLDC), we consider that they belong to the same species, and place P. neotenochca View in CoL as a junior synonym based on priority of the date of publication.
