ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868a: 38.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing left mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 10): Micropalpus Mcq. / clausus Rnd. / 509.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Linnaemya lithosiophaga (Rondani, 1859) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 289) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 38) described Micropalpus clausus from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. Herting (1969: 190) reported a single specimen in the MZUF. We found one syntype in this study. Rondani described this nominal species under the generic name “ Micropalpus ”, which is an “incorrect subsequent spelling of Micropalpis Macquart, 1834 ” ( Evenhuis et al. 2016: 85).
