REMARKS: name that Rondani (1862d: 210) proposed as a synonym of Mesembrina matutina Rondani, 1862 (from one specimen labeled “ mystacea Macq. ” received from Macquart) and not made available by use as a valid species before 1961. O’Hara et al. (2011: 210) considered this name as unavailable.
