Leucopis bursaria Rondani, 1848 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1848a: 437.
TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Parma (Italy) because he referred to observations made by himself and E. Berté (from Parma).
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype (with puparium, dissected) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / bursaria Rnd. , [illegible words] … in galle ulmi / 1818 / Lectotypus Leucopis bursaria Rondani det. G. Morge, Ex. 15 [not designated] / Lectotypus ♂ Leucopis (Leucopis) bursaria Rondani, 1847 [sic!], A. Raspi det.
PARALECTOTYPE NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♂ ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / bursaria Rnd. , [illegible words] … in galle ulmi / 1818 / Syntypus Chamaemyia bursaria (Rond.) , det. G. Morge, Ex. 16.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Tanasijtshuk 1984: 226, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7, Raspi 2003: 101).
REMARKS: Rondani (1848a: 437) described Leucopis bursaria from two specimens received from E. Berté who reared them from larvae mining the leaves of the black poplar Populus nigra Linnaeus, 1753 . Raspi (2003: 105) designated a lectotype (♂) but did not mention an additional male in the MZUF numbered “1818” (this additional specimen is a paralectotype).
