ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1848a: 435.

TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but later (1875a: 264) added “ prope Parmam et in collibus sub-apenninis [near Parma and on sub-Apennine hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype (terminalia on a slide in the same Box) ( MZUB: Box 329): 27 78 / Leucopis Mgn / aphidiperda Rond. , ex a. parmensi / aphiperda Rndn., Parma / Lectotypus ♂ Leucopis (Leucopis) aphidiperda Rondani , det. G. Morge, Ex. 2 / Hiervon Genit. [genitalia of this specimen] Prep. N. 2.

PARALECTOTYPES NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♀ (puparium, covered with mold) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / aphidiperda Rond. / 1812 / Leucopis (Leucopis) aphidiperda Rond. , det G. Morge, Ex. 3 (in litteris); 1 ♂ (with puparium, covered with mold, dissected) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / aphidiperda Rond. / 1812 / Leucopis (Leucopis) aphidiperda Rond. , det G. Morge, Ex. 4 (in litteris).

CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Tanasijtshuk 1984: 225, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7, Raspi & Benelli 2016: 202).

REMARKS: Rondani (1848a: 435) described Leucopis aphidiperda without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens. Morge (1962b: 436) designated a lectotype (♂) but did not mention an additional male and female in the MZUF (both of these additional specimens are paralectotypes). The MZUF specimens of Leucopis aphidiperda and Leucopis aphidivora are both numbered “1812”.
