REMARKS: Rondani (1878a: 150) described Cyclopodia albertisii without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, he gave a single measurement of lengths and provided specific characters for the male, from material collected by L.M. D’Albertis. Guiglia (1957: 195) reported the male in the MSNG as “ holotype ” without knowing of an additional five specimens (all are paralectotypes), two specimens in the MSNG and three specimens in the MZUF, which brings the original syntype series to six specimens. In his original description Rondani did not explicitly refer to a single specimen therefore Guiglia’s “ holotype ” specimen must be considered as the lectotype (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.6). Maa (1971: 21) reported a type series without indicating the number of specimens and considered the MSNG male as the “type”. The additional MZUF specimen from “Borneo” is not included in the type series because it is not from the type locality.
