Fore tarsomeres 3–5 slightly flattened ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Mid femur slightly constricted on pre–apical ventral surface; 1 row of short ad; 1 row of strong av, irregular length; 1 row of strong pv and 1 row of p. Mid tibia on ventral surface slightly constricted on basal half area, densely setulose on apical half area; 1 developed pre–apical ad; 1 developed median a; 2 developed apical av and 1 v; 2 apical strong pv; 1 median p and 1 apical p. First mid tarsomere with strong basal spine on ventral surface ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Hind coxa bare on posterior margin. Hind femur on ventral surface without protuberance ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ); 1 row of ad, 4 stronger setae running towards dorsal surface ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ); 1 row of strong av, 2 longer and strong setae on apical half; posterior surface with a small tuft of setae on apical half. Hind tibia with 1 developed median d and 1 pre–apical; 1 long and developed sub–median ad; 2 median av, 1 apical ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ).

Biology. Label information indicates that this species was found in decomposing matter. This species occurs in the Páramos in the Central Cordillera in Colombia. Nothing else is known about its habits or biology.

Etymology. Name in apposition. The species epithet refers to the Awá indigenous people, that inhabit the regions of northern Ecuador (provinces of Carchi and Sucumbios) and southern Colombia (particularly the departments of Nariño and Putumayo).

Type material. Holotype male ( CEUA). COLOMBIA: Antioquia. San José de la montaña. El Congo /10– 15\set\2011/ 3000m./ L. Rios /VSR pez. Trampa 5 . Paratypes. COLOMBIA. Antioquia: San José de la montaña. El Congo /10–15\set\2011/ 3000m./ L. Rios /T. VSR pez. Bosque laguna (1 male, CEUA. Voucher code DG017) ; Caldas: Colombia , Manizales. Reserva Rio/Blanco. 2995m. VSR pescado/ Abril \2005/ Seminario de entomologia/ CEUA (1 male, CEUA) .

The holotype is not completely in good condition because it was used to extract DNA. It was not macerated, but rather immersed in Proteinase K. The specimen has 1 mid leg, 2 posterior legs and the rest of the legs glued to a paper triangle. The code of the voucher is DG017.

Distribution. Colombia: departments of Antioquia and Caldas (Central Cordillera, Andean region) ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ).
