DISTRIBUTION: W. Tien Shan Mtns., in S. Kazakhstan and N.W. Kirgizia ( U.S. S. R.).

COMMENT: Regarded by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:514, as a synonym of marmota , but see Corbet, 1978:81.
