TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., California, Riverside Co., San Gorgonio Pass .

DISTRIBUTION: E. California and S. E. Oregon to Colorado and New Mexico ( U.S.A.), south to Baja California Sur ( Mexico).

COMMENT: Ongoing investigation indicates that populations south of approx. 29° 30' N. lat. on the Baja California peninsula may constitute a separate species (oldest available name: A. canfieldae Huey ) (DJH).
