TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., Idaho, Idaho Co., between the forks of the Clearwater and Kooskooskie Rivers .
DISTRIBUTION: S. E. British Columbia and W. Alberta ( Canada) to N.E. Oregon, C. Idaho, and C. Montana ( U.S.A.).
COMMENT: Subgenus Urocitellus ; see Gromov et al., 1965: 196. Hall, 1981:381, included Urocitellus in subgenus Spermophilus .
