DISTRIBUTION: W. Washington ( U.S.A.) to Baja California Norte ( Mexico).

COMMENT: Subgenus Otospermophilus ; see Hall, 1981:401. Gromov et al., 1965:145, considered Otospermophilus a distinct genus. Type locality restricted by Grinnell, 1933, Univ. Calif. Publ. Zool., 40: 120.
