The weak, non-serrate ovipositor of this species is a character state that occurs among Thripidae View in CoL only in the unrelated genus Plesiothrips View in CoL .
Specimens examined. Vietnam, Son La Province, Moc Chau, 8 females on bamboo, 5.iii.2000, S. Okajima. Thai Nguten Province, 1 female on bamboo, 22.viii.2000, S. Okajima.
