Kuhlia marginata  ( Cuvier  in Cuvier  & Valenciennes, 1829) —Dark-margined flagtail STATUS AT MADANG. New record from Madang, based on specimens collected by W.-J. Chen on 5 Dec. 2012. CASAbout CAS and NTUM material ( CASAbout CAS 63380View Materials; NTUM 10117).

DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. Indonesia east to Society Islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Primarily in freshwater habitats, rarely estuaries, 0– 2 m. Freshwater and transitional water.

East Africa, Madagascar and Mascarenes east to Caroline and Tuamotu islands, north to southern Japan, south to Queensland ( Australia) and New Caledonia. Found in estuaries and fast-flowing stretches of middle and lower reaches of rivers, 0– 2 m. Freshwater and transitional water.
