Remarks. Otostigmus tidius  is distributed in central and northern Brazil ( Figure 41View FIGURE 41). The shape of the ultimate pair of legs, the tergites with median and lateral keels, the presence of short paramedian sutures in the anterior part of the sternites and the presence of two tarsal spurs on legs 1 to 8 put this species close to O. inermis  . It also resembles O. lanceolatus  and O. sulcatus  in that the tibia and tarsi of the ultimate pair of legs are laterally flattened. No specimen was known from Brazil until this study and its validity was questioned by Bücherl (1943). Although the types of O. tidius  have not been examined, the specimens of O. tidius  available for this study agreed well with Chamberlin’s description and are here considered representative of this species.
