Material examined. Holotype (♂). TAIWAN: Taichung City, Huping, Wuling-Chika, Mt. Hsueshan (1900–2400 m alt.), 24.36, 121.31, 13 Aug 1990, M. Tomokuni ( NSMT) ( AMNH _ PBI 00378773 About AMNH ) . Paratypes: TAIWAN: Taichung City, Huping, Yunlong, Shanchuang , 2500 m alt., UV lighting, 4 Aug 1990, M. Tomokuni, 1♂ ( NSMT); Huping, Szuyuan–Yushong, 1900–2300 m alt., 1 Aug 1990, M. Tomokuni, 1♀ ( NSMT) .
Diagnosis. Recognized by its generally pale green, moderate-sized, elongate, subparallel-sided body ( Fig. 5J– K View FIGURE 5 ); darkened apex of clypeus ( Fig. 5L View FIGURE 5 ); narrow brown macula at apex of corium; reddish brown apical 1/2–1/3 of metafemur; projected phallotheca with a subapical fold ( Fig. 20O View FIGURE 20 ); and narrow, spatulate vesical ventral sclerite with a small, hooked process at apex ( Fig. 20O View FIGURE 20 ). A combination of these characters enables this new species to be distinguished from other Asian congeners.
Description. Body elongate-oval, subparallel-sided, moderate in size; basic coloration pale green; dorsal surface with uniformly distributed, pale, simple, short, reclining-semierect setae. Head pale brown, weakly tinged with red, shining; basal transverse carina of vertex slightly narrower than pronotal collar. Antenna pale brown; apex of segment II, entire III and IV brown. Labium pale reddish brown, slightly exceeding apex of mesocoxa, shorter than metafemur; apex of segment IV darkened. Pronotum and scutellum shining, partly tinged with red; thoracic pleura pale reddish brown; scent efferent system pale brown, subtriangular with small peritreme ( Fig. 20H View FIGURE 20 ). Hemelytra shiny pale green; clavus more or less tinged with brown; apex of corium with a brown, narrow macula; membrane smoky brown, speckled with semitransparent, pale portions. All coxae creamy pale brown; legs pale brown; basal 1/2–1/3 of metafemur reddish brown ( Fig. 5L View FIGURE 5 ); apex of each tarsomere III darkened; meta-tarsomere II slightly longer than III ( Fig. 20I View FIGURE 20 ); pretarsal structure as in Fig. 20J View FIGURE 20 ; parempodia relatively short. Ventral side of abdomen yellowish green.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 12A–C View FIGURE 12 , 20K–O View FIGURE 20 ): Sensory lobes of parameres moderately produced at apex ( Figs. 12A– B View FIGURE 12 , 20L–N View FIGURE 20 ); right paramere with hooked hypophysis ( Fig. 12B View FIGURE 12 , 20N View FIGURE 20 ); vesica with weakly curved spiculum and spatulate, narrow ventral sclerite ( Figs. 12C View FIGURE 12 , 20O View FIGURE 20 ).
Female genitalia: Not examined.
Measurements: See Table 1 View TABLE 1 .
